Dreaming of the desert?
Imagine crossing the Atlas Mountains, feeling the warm southern wind brush your face, and seeing the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi take shape on the horizon under a setting sun.

You are in Morocco, on the road from Marrakech to Merzouga.
Five days of escape, total change of scenery, and pure emotion await you.
The 5-day Marrakech Merzouga tour is one of the most beautiful adventures you can experience in Morocco.
It’s the ideal amount of time to discover the Sahara without rushing, to enjoy the peace of the desert and the stunning roads of the South.
Each day brings its share of landscapes, encounters, and unforgettable sensations.

Why choose a 5-day tour instead of a 3-day tour?
Still hesitating between a 3-day and a 5-day Marrakech to Merzouga tour?
It’s a common question among our travelers.
The 3-day tour, offered in shared transport, may seem appealing at first glance.
But it involves very long drives (up to 10 hours straight on the return), limited time in the desert, and an experience that’s often too rushed to truly enjoy the Sahara.
With Just Marrakech, the 5-day tour lets you travel at your own pace, privately, with a dedicated driver-guide.
You take the time to admire the landscapes, enjoy every step without stress, and most importantly, experience the desert as it should be — in peace, serenity, and comfort.

Your adventure day by day

Day 1 – Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
Your adventure begins early in Marrakech.
You leave the Red City to cross the High Atlas and its mythical Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2,260 m), where each bend reveals a new panorama.

On the way, you stop at the famous UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, before reaching Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert.

The day ends in the Dades Valley, where you spend the night in a traditional Moroccan guesthouse, surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Day 2 – Todra Gorges → Merzouga
After breakfast, you head to the Todra Gorges, impressive red cliffs sculpted by time.

Then the desert road opens before you…
Upon arrival in Merzouga, the dunes of Erg Chebbi welcome you.

You ride a camel to witness a magical sunset over the golden sand before reaching your desert camp.

In the evening, around a fire and under a starry sky, Berber music echoes.
Welcome to the Sahara.
Day 3 – Desert exploration and nomadic life
Wake up with the sunrise over the dunes… a timeless moment.

After breakfast, set off by 4x4 to explore the Saharan landscapes: Berber villages, the M’Fis mines, nomadic families…

You can also add some adventure with a quad biking or sandboarding session on the dunes.

In the evening, settle into a typical local inn.

Day 5 – Ouarzazate → Atlas Studios → Marrakech

Then, head back to Marrakech with your heart full of memories and eyes still dazzled by the beauty of the Sahara.
Sleeping in the desert: between comfort and authenticity
At Just Marrakech, we know that accommodation plays a key role in the success of a trip.
That’s why we customize each stay according to your preferences and the type of hotels or camps you prefer: from authentic standard to high-end — everything is possible.
Outside the desert, we favor charming guesthouses and riads where peace and hospitality reign.
And depending on the season, we select — when possible — accommodations with pools, perfect for relaxing after a day on the road.

In the Sahara, you sleep in carefully selected camps in Erg Chebbi.
Standard tents have shared outdoor toilets (dry toilets), while luxury tents offer private bathrooms and toilets — a real plus for a comfortable rest.
We’ve tested these accommodations many times, with our clients and families, and we are convinced: to fully enjoy the desert, you need a minimum level of comfort.
That’s what makes the difference between a night “in the desert”… and an unforgettable night in the Sahara.
