What Kids Will Absolutely Love About Secret Family Farm

Rabbits, baby goats, creative workshops and a beldi lunch: at Secret Family Farm, families enjoy an extraordinary day out in Marrakech.

An idea that won me over instantly

When a family asks me how to keep the kids busy in Marrakech — really busy, not just trailing from one monument to the next — my answer has changed since I discovered Secret Family Farm. It's an address I now slip into every family itinerary, and every single time, the feedback is the same: "Céline, that was the best day of our trip."

The farm is located on Route d'Agadir, on the same site as La Secret Beach. A setting away from the city, where the pace slows down and children immediately find their place: hands in the soil, eyes wide open.

Feeding the animals: the little ones' favourite moment

From the moment they arrive, each child is given a basket of food for the animals. And that's when the magic happens. Rabbits, hens, ducks, baby goats, tortoises, a calf, and even a baby dromedary — the farm is home to a wonderful variety of residents. I've seen shy four-year-olds arrive hesitantly and leave completely transformed after feeding the goats by hand. You can't plan moments like that. They just happen, and they stay with you.

Access to the farm is free-roaming, giving families all the time they need to wander at their own pace, with no clock ticking. For little ones under 2, farm entry is free — a detail that really matters when you're travelling with a large family.

Creative workshops: every child goes home with something they made

What I particularly love is that Secret Family Farm isn't just about animal encounters. Depending on the pack chosen, creative workshops are included. The most popular? The pottery workshop, which unfolds in two stages: you start in the morning to shape your piece, then come back to paint it in the afternoon or at the end of the day. It's a wonderful excuse to plan a full day on site.

The other workshops are quicker and can be done at any point during the visit — ideal for families who prefer to keep some flexibility in their schedule.

Worth noting: supervised accompaniment during the workshops is available as an option (from age 5, on request), which gives parents a little breathing room if needed.

A beldi meal to recharge

Depending on the pack selected, a beldi menu with starter and main course is included. After a morning spent chasing ducks and shaping clay, everyone works up an appetite. This meal in a lush green setting is also a welcome pause for parents — because yes, the day is full-on (in the best possible way). Drinks are ordered separately on site.

What to plan before you come

A few practical points I always share with families before their visit:

  • Booking is required at least 1 day before your visit.
  • A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking (secure online payment); the balance is settled in cash on site.
  • Free cancellation up to 3 days before — after that, the deposit is non-refundable.
  • An accompanying adult must be present and attentive throughout the visit.
  • In summer, I recommend coming in the morning or late afternoon to enjoy the cooler temperatures.
  • Transport can be arranged as an option (round-trip van from Guéliz) — worth considering if you're not hiring a car.

Céline's tip

If you're travelling with children aged 4 and up and you're looking for an experience that truly goes off the beaten track, book Secret Family Farm Marrakech. It's one of those places where adults forget they're tired because they're watching their children come alive. And no museum in the world can offer that.
