Riddles, winding lanes and guaranteed laughs: discover why the treasure hunt Les Secrets de Moulay Hassan is my favourite activity for a group of friends.
When the Médina becomes a playground
I've been organising group outings in Marrakech for ten years, and I'm always looking for that little something that makes you come home thinking: "That's one we'll never forget." Chasse au Trésor : Les Secrets de Moulay Hassan has become, over the months, one of my favourite answers to that question. It's not a simple game: it's a way of crossing the Médina with your eyes wide open, as a team, immersed in the history of the city.
The meeting point is right in front of the Koutoubia mosque, one of the most iconic landmarks in Marrakech. It's a starting point that sets the tone immediately: you're at the heart of history, and the adventure begins before you've even launched the first riddle.

What does it actually look like?
From the very start, each participant gets access to an interactive app with a personalised digital roadbook. The riddles follow one after another, all anchored in the immersive story of Moulay Hassan — a character who gives the hunt a real narrative backbone. You're not running around the lanes at random: you follow a thread, decode clues, and debate as a group. And trust me, that's often where the best conversations — and the best laughs — break out.
An official guide accompanies you throughout the entire experience, and WhatsApp assistance is available if a clue proves a little too stubborn. No one is left to fend for themselves. And for those wondering whether the weather can spoil everything: the Médina is largely sheltered, and the hunt goes ahead even in the rain. Only very heavy rain leads to a postponement, at no extra charge.

What I particularly love about this experience
What I deeply love about this treasure hunt is that it respects the Médina. You don't pass through the neighbourhood like hurried tourists: you stop, you observe, you search. You look up at architectural details you would otherwise have missed. You talk to people. The Médina welcomes you differently when you have a reason to linger.
I also love that the experience is thought through to the very end. At the finish, each team receives a personalised recap report with scores and rankings, as well as a downloadable and shareable photo gallery. It's the kind of concrete memory that's still circulating in the group chat weeks after everyone's back home. And the final reward at the partner venue is a wonderful way to close the adventure together.
A few practical points to keep in mind: the booking must be made at least 5 days before the date, with a 50% deposit to confirm. Food and drinks are not included, but you are free to bring whatever you like. The minimum age is 16.

What type of group is it for?
This is clearly the ideal activity for a group of friends who want to experience Marrakech differently — without staying passive, without following a set itinerary to the letter. It also works really well for a birthday, a weekend away with friends, or a first visit that leaves you wanting to know more about the city.
If you're looking for other ways to enjoy the Médina as a group, I'm also very fond of the Visite Interactive de la Médina de Marrakech and the Visite Privée des Souks de Marrakech to round out the day. But honestly, the treasure hunt is more than enough on its own — give it the place it deserves in your programme.
