The jewellery workshop that won over my last hen party group

A bracelet-making workshop with friends in Marrakech: why I include this experience in almost every hen party itinerary. Creative, intimate, and unforgettable.

The moment every girl holds onto

After years of organising hen parties in Marrakech, I've learned to recognise the activities that leave a lasting impression. Not the most spectacular ones, not the loudest — the ones where the girls really look at each other, laugh, create something together. The Atelier Création de Bracelet à Marrakech is exactly that kind of moment. Since I started including it in my itineraries, it comes up every time in the messages I receive after the trip: "Céline, we're still wearing our bracelets!"

How does the workshop work?

The workshop takes place in Guéliz and lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. Nathalie, who leads every session, welcomes the group with personal attention — she takes the time to understand each person's tastes before anything even begins. All materials are provided: semi-precious stones, beads, threads… nothing to bring, nothing to plan for. Every participant leaves with her own bracelet, made with her own hands.

The group is intentionally small: a maximum of six people. That's what makes all the difference. This isn't an anonymous, conveyor-belt workshop — you're among friends, in a focused and joyful atmosphere, with real guidance. From age 13, younger participants are also welcome, provided they are accompanied by an adult who participates as well.

Why does it work so well for a hen party?

A hen party often has a packed schedule: pool time, evenings out, excursions… and that's wonderful. But you also need breathing space. Moments where the group gathers around a table, hands busy, tongues loosened. The jewellery workshop fills that role perfectly. While choosing your stones, you talk about the bride-to-be, tease each other, compare your creations. It's a truly bonding activity in the most genuine sense of the word.

And there's something symbolic about making a bracelet during a hen party. Some girls choose colours that remind them of the bride-to-be, others make matching pieces with their best friend. The piece of jewellery becomes a tangible souvenir of the trip — far more personal than a fridge magnet or a keyring picked up at the souk.

How do I fit it into a Marrakech hen party itinerary?

I usually place this workshop in the middle of the stay, often in the morning or early afternoon. It pairs beautifully with a relaxing moment like the Hammam & Massage à Guéliz, or with a Visite Privée des Souks de Marrakech for those who want to extend the artisan atmosphere. For evenings, I love suggesting the Dar Soukkar Dîner spectacle dans un Palais historique or the Secret Room Marrakech Nightclub à l'Hivernage — the contrast always works wonderfully.

With JustMarrakech, every hen party itinerary is designed to measure. The group votes on its activities through a private discussion space, which means everyone feels ownership of the trip from the very start. And when it comes to finances, each participant pays her own share directly — the organiser doesn't front anything or have to chase anyone.

What you need to know before booking

The workshop takes between 2 and 6 participants. Booking must be made at least 5 days in advance, and a deposit of €17 per person is required to confirm. The balance (€48 or 480 MAD per person) is paid in cash on the day. Cancellation is free up to 5 days before the chosen date — beyond that, the deposit is retained. Transport is not included but can be arranged on request via WhatsApp.

My guide's tip

If you're still on the fence about including a creative workshop in your hen party, think about this: what girls talk about when they get home is rarely "we partied." It's "we laughed until we cried for two hours choosing our stones" or "we all have the same bracelet, it's our thing." Those little moments of closeness are what weave the memories of a truly special hen party. And that is something Nathalie and her workshop know exactly how to create.
